Hello and welcome to my website created for biology 11 and biology 3A. Here you will find links to pertinent information for each course as well as contact information, office hours, and helpful links related to biology.
Concepts of biology (B11) is a four unit course with one-three hour lab and two - 1 hour 25 minute lectures per week. This course is designed for the non-major and covers concepts related to biological diversity, cells, human systems, genetics, DNA, evolution, and ecology.
General Biology I (B3A) is a five unit course with two-three hour labs and two - 1 hour 25 minute lectures per week. This particular course is for the biology major or student pursuing pre-professional programs such as pre-med, pre-pharmacy, or pre-dentistry. This class focuses on scientific processes and methods of biology including principles of micro- and macro-evolutionary processes, biodiversity of organisms, systematics, and principles of ecology.
These classes are designed to show you how biology touches our everyday lives. How our health and livelihood are affected, as well as the world in which we live. By the time you finish either of these courses, I would hope that you learn to appreciate and understand biology. It is my goal to teach you to think, and to think critically. However, don't forget to have fun along the way!
